SPARKY submissions due today!

Don't forget - Morris Library is promoting and sponsoring a campus version of the SPARKY Awards. The entry deadline is TODAY, Friday, November 20, 2009. How do you enter? All you need to do is submit a short video (no more than 2 minutes in length) on the topic of the value and benefits of information sharing. At SIUC there will be three local winners with a Grand Prize on an iPod touch and two Runner-Ups will receive $100 gift certificate at the campus bookstore. Paul Simon Legacy Event

An exhibit and program featuring invited speaker Charles Klotzer, publisher of St. Louis Journalism Review who worked for Simon at the Troy newspaper, will highlight Simon's influence as a journalist will be held on Thursday, December 10 at 7:00 pm. The program will be held at the Tri-Township Public Library, located at 209 South Main Street in Troy, IL. Learn more. (Posted November 18, 2009)

H1N1 Information Available Online

Stay up-to-date on the latest news and information regarding swine flu (H1N1). Visit Morris Library’s new Guide Dawgs web site for swine flu information and find an interactive Google map of the outbreak and links to the latest reports from the Centers for Disease Control and World Health Organization. Featured Resource: Zotero

Zotero (pronounced "zoh-TAIR-oh") is a Firefox addon that collects, manages, and cites research sources. It's easy to use, lives in your web browser where you do your work, and best of all it's free. Zotero allows you to attach PDFs, notes and images to your citations, organize them into collections for different projects, and create bibliographies using Word or OpenOffice. Learn more.
